‘Those Darn Tin Cans’
Our speaker evening next Monday features a double act. Husband and wife team, David and Pam Humphries, who work with Birmingham Conservation Trust, will give an informative talk entitled ‘Those Darn Tin Cans’.
Expected to last for about ten years, a few of Birmingham’s iconic prefabs are still going strong, eighty years on from their first deployment as a solution to the housing crisis that resulted from World War Two bombing. David and Pam have studied the history of these prefabricated structures and will give a fascinating insight into their history and tales of the folk who lived in them.
