Our first post-pandemic Speaker Evening in the Village Hall will feature Wellesbourne based actress, Ginny Davis and her talk ‘To the Fringe and Beyond’.
She will give us a fascinating and entertaining tale of her journey from the courtroom to the theatre via a one-woman show in Edinburgh, swapping the wig and gown of a barrister for the wigs and greasepaint of the stage, taking the plunge of foregoing delivering the persuasive argument to the jury in favour of giving life to a character from the pages of a script to rows of paying punters.
Please join us for what promises to be an inspiring and amusing evening in the Village Hall on Monday 15th at 7.30pm
Our guest speaker for the final Webinar in our series ‘Foreseeable Future’ will be the Leader of the Council, Councillor Ian Courts.
He will give his perspective on the future direction for Knowle, including matters we have covered in the previous sessions, and also set the future of Knowle within a view of the way ahead for Solihull as a borough, as he sees it.
The session will be chaired by Leighton Jones, who will then ask for answers to your questions to round off this series.
We have also overcome the technical challenges which delayed publishing the recordings of the fourth and fifth Webinars. These were:- Leighton Jones meets Dr Mike Baker, Strategic Director of GPS Healthcare (Knowle Surgery) and Primary Care Lead for the Birmingham and Solihull Clinical Commissioning Group to discuss the current position with and future of health provision in GP surgeries.
The fifth webinar in our series turns the spotlight onto the village centre and local concerns that a number of empty shops means that Knowle may follow the perceived national trend of ‘High Streets in decline’ as Dave Pinwell talks to Chris Gregory, founder Director of Visit Knowle. Chris is a specialist in Town Management and Business Improvement, a High Streets Task Force Expert as well as a Knowle resident. The webinar can be viewed here.
Recordings of the Society’s April and May ‘Foreseeable Future’ Webinars are now available for online viewing. In the first, from April 19th, Leighton Jones meets Dr Mike Baker, Strategic Director of GPS Healthcare (Knowle Surgery) and Primary Care Lead for the Birmingham and Solihull Clinical Commissioning Group to discuss the current position with and future of health provision in GP surgeries. The webinar can be viewed here.
