Because of the dark nights and uncertain weather, our first meeting of the year is an online one. It will provide a fascinating insight into one of our local heritage assets.
Entitled ‘Times Past at Temple Balsall‘, we will be showing a short (45 mins) film about its history and development into the place of worship, senior living and education which it is today.
Narrated by no less than the actor Robert Hardy, the film charts over 800 years of local history. Find out about Temple Balsall’s connections with the Knights Templars and with Queen Elizabeth the First. In particular, hear about the pivotal point in its history when the estate was inherited by Robert Dudley’s granddaughter, Lady Katherine Leveson.
