‘National Highways’ will be installing narrow lanes on the M42 in both directions between junctions 5 and 6 between Saturday 18 March and Friday 31 March 2023.
Once installed, the narrow lanes will be in place until spring 2024 and will allow additional space at the side of the motorway to provide a safer working environment for their workforce to:
- remove vegetation
- install gantries
- construct new junction slip roads
- install the associated technology for the gantries
