While most people will appreciate the reduction in aircraft over the area at the moment, there are still some. Some of these are training flights undertaken by the Royal Airforce using Hawk, A400 and C-17 aircraft. The airport is keen to support these operations as it supports the RAF and its Air Traffic Control Operation.
In addition there are likely to be some commercial airlines operating training flights, this is to ensure pilots are keeping up their flying hours to maintain their licences in preparation for the eventual resumption of ‘normal’ flying.
