MESSAGES FROM WEST MIDLANDS POLICE

Dear Residents
I just want to reiterate how important it is that you stay at home in order to help stop the spread of coronavirus. You should only leave the house for 1 of 4 reasons:

  • shopping for basic necessities, for example food and medicine, which must be as infrequent as possible;
  • one form of exercise a day, for example a run, walk, or cycle – alone or with members of your household;
  • any medical need, or to provide care or to help a vulnerable person;
  • travelling to and from work, but only where this absolutely cannot be done from home.

Please make sure that you keep your children/ teenagers and young adults at home. If they are going out for their one form of exercise make sure they follow the 2 meter rule. We have seen a rise in youths using the canal paths and fields in order to socialise and refusing to disperse. This is unacceptable and will be dealt with appropriately and enforcement will follow.
