The Society will have a stall near the former telephone kiosk with a photo quiz in and around Knowle with multiple vouchers for local businesses; a ‘Grand raffle’ for a Beefeater Bear and a Lucky Dip for young children.  We are also open upstairs in the Library, which will be open all day, and in the Village Hall which is celebrating its Golden Jubilee.  Come and say hello.

The Council have just announced that they will not be enforcing restrictions on single yellow lines from 8am on 2 June to 8am on 6 June, but it looks as if the car parks will operate as usual, so don’t get caught out, get a ticket.

Solihull gains funding for Family Hubs

Solihull has been awarded £1m by Central Government to open seven Family Hubs throughout the Borough.
The aim is to give children and families the best start in life through a ‘one-stop’ shop approach. A Hub will offer a whole range of activities under one roof for families with children and young people up to 19 years old, and up to 25 for young people with additional needs. For more details, see :-

Knowle Society Walks

The walk last Wednesday from Lapworth Church was well supported, taking in two historic lanes and a modern windmill folly.  The next walk is at 7pm on July 6 from the Railway Inn in Dorridge with ‘refreshments’ afterwards if you wish.

Arrangements for the event on June 4th are well underway and the centre of the Village will be a hive of activity.  Be aware that there WILL BE ROAD CLOSURES details later.

The Society will have a stall with a Picture Quiz, Lucky Dip and Raffle.  We’ll be in the middle of the High Street, close to the former telephone kiosk, so come and say hello.  We’ll be very happy to sign up anybody who isn’t a member, and we’ll be glad to see you.

There is entertainment and also numerous other stalls to keep you and your family entertained as we celebrate an incredible achievement.
