Monday 17th January, 7.30pm

Join us to hear about Solihull’s plans for contributing to overcoming the threat of climate change.
Guest speaker Ann-Marie Attfield
Low Carbon Project Manager at Solihull Council.

The Council has set the aspiration of reducing the Borough’s CO2 emissions to net zero by 2041 and published an Action Plan.  But what will be involved? How will it impact us as residents? Will it disrupt the convenience of our lives? How much will it cost?

Come online on Monday 17th Jan to find out about the Plan directly from the Project Manager, an energy industry professional, and have the chance to ask your questions.

As usual, places will be limited by available capacity, to book yours today – sign up here:

Solihull Jab Cab: taxi service to help residents get their COVID-19 vaccinations

Haven’t been fully vaccinated yet? Stuck for transport?

Solihull Council is offering residents a taxi service to and from local NHS walk-in COVID-19 vaccination centres. The NHS-funded taxi service is for people who can’t easily get to a vaccination centre by walking, driving, or using public transport for their first, second or booster jab.

Residents simply need to call 0121 704 8058, leave their name and number, and a customer services advisor will call them back.

Advisors can help anyone who is struggling to book their vaccination appointment online. Once an appointment is booked at a vaccination centre in Birmingham or Solihull, the Jab Cab will be arranged to pick up, wait for, and then drop residents back home.

VERY BEST WISHES FOR A GOOD YEAR IN 2022 TO ALL MEMBERS

Commiserations all those who have suffered from Covid in the past two years and also to the families who have lost members.

Looking forward, things do appear to be improving – we’re certainly MUCH better off than we were at the beginning of 2021.  Let us hope the improvement continues.  Your Society is planning for an increasing programme of events as the year goes on.

The first is our AGM (the first for two years, despite it being ‘Annual’!) which will be held on Saturday 26th February in the Village Hall.  As well as reports from your Trustees and elections for Officers and Trustees, we are expecting an interesting presentation on an area of great interest.

The next event will be a local walk at 2pm on Sunday 3rd April along the canal and fields with a little walking on quiet roads.
