Well, it feels like it.  Things are gradually getting back to ‘normal’, hopefully to stay that way.  This Sunday (31st) we are hosting our first walk since last year, starting from the Guild House – 2pm start.

The route will take us across the ‘Arden Triangle’ (the site of one of the proposed large housing estates in the Council Plan) and onto the Grand Union canal for the return.  Total distance 4 miles.  Fingers crossed for the weather, but come prepared for some rain.  If it does turn out wet, the walk will still go ahead, but on a shorter route.

If all goes well, the Boxing Day walk will also go ahead as usual.

If anyone would be willing to help with the Society’s walks, we are desperate for assistance with our walks, whether marshalling or possibly leading, if you’d like to have a go – with support please let me know and we’ll explain what’s involved. Contact Leighton Jones at

In another sign of the return of ‘normality’, the village Christmas Tree (organised by your Society and kindly donated by Santa’s Fields Christmas Trees, will be lit up on Wednesday November 24th outside the Guild House in coordination with Visit Knowle’s Late Night Shopping event.

Santa will be there, so come along from 4pm to join in the festivities, hosted by Knowle Church.

We would be very grateful for a few people to help with marshalling on the evening to ensure people are kept safe. If you can help, please turn up at the Guild House around 3:30 and we’ll welcome you with ‘open arms’!
