SOLIHULL LONG-TERM DEVELOPMENT PLAN

This is the draft of the plan that will control development in Solihull over the next period up to 2036. It covers all aspects of life in Solihull including housing, business, environment, travel and health.

Red areas are housing, hatched green areas are protected wildlife etc spaces, pale green is the remaining Green Belt.

For Knowle it confirms plans for housing developments on Hampton Rd; one on the current football club site, and one on the other side of the road on the former Thackers Nurseries site. Replacement sports facilities would be provided near the canal.  It also confirms plans for housing on the ‘Arden Triangle’ with redevelopment of Arden Academy and provision of another primary school.
It mentions the need for improvements in travel and facilities, although it doesn’t specifically mention health services.
It is clear that this marks (another) major change for Knowle so it is vital that as many people as possible look at the plans and comment upon them.  You can find all the detail at https://www.solihull.gov.uk/lpr. The Neighbourhood Forum will be playing a major role in reviewing the plans, as will the Knowle Society’s Planning Committee, but individual comments will carry weight as well, so please do what you can to improve the plan.
