Timing of collections over Christmas and the New Year

We may collect at a different time on your scheduled day due to the extra amounts of rubbish and recycling. Can you please ensure your recycling and rubbish is out by 7.00am on the day of collection and wait until after 4.00pm to report a missed collection.

Extra Recycling

There’s no limit to the amount of recycling we’ll collect on your scheduled day but any additional recycling should be placed in a suitable container. This could be your old recycling box or hessian/jute bag, please don’t use carrier bags/plastic bags or cardboard boxes (if it’s wet these get soggy and the contents fall out).

Cardboard

Don’t forget to remove all packaging and break down cardboard so it fits in your brown bin or clear sacks. If your bin is full cardboard can be left alongside it but must be broken down to fit within a wheelie bin.

Extra rubbish

We’ll be collecting extra rubbish between Thursday 27 December and Wednesday 2 January. Extra rubbish can be placed in a tied black bag and left next to your black wheelie bin or purple sacks. From Thursday 3 January normal collections will resume and we’ll no longer collect extra rubbish.

Real Christmas trees

Due to changes at our waste treatment facility we can no longer collect real Christmas trees from the kerbside.
