Following the wholesale felling of trees on some of the Council’s proposed development areas, Knowle Society and the Neighbourhood Forum, with the assistance of our local Councillors persuaded the Council to place Tree Protection Orders on SOME of the land.
We were not able to persuade them to cover ALL the land as there had been no felling on other parts.
If you see ANY signs of trees being worked on, in any of the areas, please contact the Council AT ONCE.
You can also contact local Councillors. Numbers and emails on the Council
To mark this historic occasion, Knowle Society has handed over its exhibition space in Knowle Library to a display of masonic ephemera and historical landmarks, especially some relating to Freemasonry and Knowle.
As is the tradition in Knowle, the Ceremony of placing wreaths at the Cenotaph took place on the Sunday before Remembrance Day. Many Village organisations were represented, Knowle Society by the Chairman, Bill Bohanna who placed a wreath on our behalf.
This might be the last year the temporary Cenotaph is used. There are plans to refurbish and improve the original War Memorial that stands in the Churchyard.
