Public Meeting on SMBC’s Local Plan Review consultation

The Knowle, Dorridge & Bentley Heath Neighbourhood Forum is holding an extraordinary meeting on 13th January at 7pm at Arden School, dedicated to discussion of the new housing development options outlined in Solihull Council’s recent Local Plan Review consultation document.

Given that a number of these options could directly affect our Neighbourhood, please do take this opportunity to learn more about what they could mean and to make your views known as part of the Forum’s response to SMBC. Please also spread the word to friends and neighbours.

A link to the agenda is attached below. It would really help if you could confirm your attendance by clicking on info@kdbh-np.org, just putting ‘Yes’ in the subject line and sending.

KDBH Agenda 13 Jan 2016

Mini recycling centres to go

As we are all using our kerbside recycling facilities more and not the mini ones in public areas, the Council has decided to close them. The Tesco car park ones go by 30 November 2015, the Dorridge Station car park ones go by 28 February 2016 and the Greswolde car park ones by 31 May 2016.

New Bus Service to Stratford Skirts Knowle

Johnson’s Coaches has been operating a bus service from Birmingham to Stratford via Hockley Heath for some time, but now it has added a Solihull to Stratford service that passes along one of Knowle’s boundaries. The new, six times a day, S20 service (five times on Saturday and no service on Sunday) runs from Solihull along Widney Manor Road, then up Widney Road to the Cricket Club and down Station Road to Dorridge before proceeding to Stratford via Hockley Heath and Henley-in-Arden. For a full timetable, visit Network West Midlands.

A Miscellany of Photographs – from 1859

Come and enjoy a selection of photographs of Knowle from our archives. Drop in to Knowle Library and we’re upstairs – you are always welcome. There is always an exhibition on display – this one will be followed by one on The Geology of Knowle later in 2015.
