Eager faces demonstrate the value of this annual event when The Knowle Society displays pictures and talks about old and new Knowle to the children.
Six members of the Society enjoyed a rewarding visit when the Year 6 (final year) children displayed a lively interest and were able to relate what they saw to their own knowledge of the village. The project forms part of the National Curriculum for Knowle’s Year 6 children. This year the Society took its exhibition to the school instead of the school coming to the library, whilst the Library is closed temporarily. The Local History Centre has prepared a set of pictures which combined with material from the Society’s new Guide to Knowle provides a broad view of Knowle to encourage an interest in the village in which the children live. The visit is followed later by a question and answer session in open forum with the children. The Knowle Society is very pleased to be helping in this way with the local primary school.
