Regarding the Wychwood roundabout area I would like to express some comments (related to the green space on the Wychwood side of the roundabout). Firstly the land is very boggy, the three trees in the middle seem to have drowned and died last year, therefore development needs to be careful. Secondly, the land should be develped to discourage it becoming a cycle track and footpath. I would like to see it express the rural nature of Knowle with planting of attractive native trees and shrubs to form a dense, attractive copice appearance.This would link with the nearby woodlands, and enhance the tree cover in the village, providing environmental benefits. However I came away concerned that, although there was a good attendance given the weather was awful,ignorance or apathy may allow for this proposal to slip through. Everyone had an opportunity to air their views, both for and against, whilst order was maintained and tempers did not get too frayed. I hope that the views expressed will be conveyed to the planning officers by the Society, and that the Councillors present will reflect on the what was said, when they come to vote on the issue.
