Christmas lights switched on

This annual event was a great hit as usual. A cooperative venture between The Knowle Society and Knowle Traders, it enjoys the support of the Knowle & Dorridge Lions Club, the Parish Church, the Ardennaires (from Arden Academy) the police, friends from the Royal British Legion and of course Father Christmas himself. The event is a significant start to Christmas for young and old and is an important part of the traders’ bid to attract and retain business into Knowle.

This popular annual event is being held on Monday 26th November at the usual time of around 4.15-4.30 (we can never be quite sure exactly when Father Christmas will arrive as travel conditions in the Arctic can be quite severe at times). Because he is going to be so busy (it seems that a lot more children have been really well-behaved this year) he has asked us to bring it forward by one week from the date advertised in the Society’s green Programme Card. Of course we were happy to oblige and the traders are making a special effort to put up the lights in good time. The tree erecting team is visiting the gym to get those muscles in trim for hauling up a monster tree and the Ardennaires are putting in extra rehearsals to be ready in time for the carol singing. We just hope that someone has bought the Vicar a new book of jokes for his birthday! (16th Oct 2012)
