|The application for a grant from the Council came top in the list of projects voted on by local residents. It has also been assessed by the Neighbourhood Forum as meeting the requirements for a grant. It now goes to the Council to decide if it meets their requirements, so fingers crossed.|

The Forum and the Society have both objected to the application to demolish the garden centre and replace it with a large development consisting of an:-
“extra care facility comprising: a village care centre; 39 No. one and two bedroom care suites; 46 No. one and two bedroom care apartments; and associated works,”
The Society’s objection followed similar lines:- the impact on the Green Belt; the lack of need considering the large number of similar facilities already in the area; and the impact of the additional traffic generated.
On Thursday volunteers from Knowle Society, aided by others from Visit Knowle and K&D Lions carried out another litter pick in and around the village centre while others ‘dealt with’ the planters in the Precinct. Many thanks to them all.
Even though Knowle Village Hall has been closed to Hirers since March, it has not been abandoned! As soon as Lockdown restrictions eased, the Management Committee got on with the refurbishment programme. The concertina doors between the Main Hall and Lounge have gone – replaced by oak doors, the Lobby and Foyer have been redecorated with new flooring and notice boards and a new display cabinet has been installed. More works are on their way!
