Pig Racing Night

DUE TO GOVERNMENT ADVICE ON CORONAVIRUS – THIS EVENT HAS BEEN POSTPONED.

The Society is pleased to be supporting Visit Knowle in its fundraising for its work in the village centre, starting with a fun Pig Racing Night at Knowle Royal British Legion on Friday 27th March. If you came to the similar event run by the Society in 2015, you will know what fun it is as the battery driven pigs tough it out down the track to win each of the six races for those that have backed them.

For those unfamiliar with Visit Knowle, it is bringing together retailers, non-retail businesses, community groups, including the Society, and residents to work together to ensure that our village centre remains ‘fit for purpose’, that is a sustainable, vibrant centre for our shopping and other community events. Funds raised on March 27th will be used to stage a major ‘Festival’ event in the village in the summer.

Tickets are just £10 per person, for entry to the event and a supper of pulled pork with apple and coleslaw side from Eric Lyons and a late bar.

If you love Knowle and want to see our village centre thrive, please come along and bring neighbours, friends and/or family for what promises to be an exciting night. Details are on the attached poster.

Tickets are available from Jayne at Belle Diva in Brisker Court, or you can fill in the form by following this link:

LOCAL WALK Sunday 29th MARCH 2pm

IN LIGHT OF THE CORONAVIRUS PROBLEM, ALL WALKS ARE CANCELLED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE

This will be as local a walk as it can be! Starting from the car park at Knowle Park (off Longdon Rd) we will explore the byways (and a few highways) in and around Knowle. Although most of the walk will be on paved paths, there will be some on muddy paths, so please be prepared. The distance will be 4 miles but there will be options to cut it short if you need to, or if the weather is too horrendous!

Come along and find out how you can get about the village without using the car.
