THE KNOWLE SOCIETY LOCAL HISTORY TEAM
HAVE VACANCIES FOR VOLUNTEERS
If you have some spare time on a Saturday morning, would you like to fill it in a helpful and rewarding manner?
Helpful – because by helping every 4th Saturday 10am – 12.30pm you will be assisting in keeping the Local History Centre open on Saturday mornings when we help visitors with their enquiries (you will have an experienced volunteer on duty with you).
Rewarding – because we are the keepers of the village archives and by doing this you will be getting a glimpse into Knowle’s past and get to know more about the people and the village you live in.
If you are interested and computer literate (does not have to be in depth but at least able to receive and send emails), and would like to know more please contact Janet on
01564779040 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
This ever-popular 3 mile countryside walk will take place again on Wed 26th December starting from the Guild House at 11am.
ALL welcome, bring your friends and family.
Mulled wine and mince pies as rewards at the end!
The charity Xmas cards shop in Knowle Library will remain open until Sat 15th December for the sale of great charity cards at excellent prices.
In addition to the notice of Councillor Rebeiro’s Surgeries, we have been informed of the following.
I do not do regular Surgeries. Most people get in touch by email or phone and I try to visit people.
Councillor Jeff Potts:-
I have found, after several attempts, that regular Surgeries are not an efficient use of time. Most contacts are made via email or telephone. Then a meeting can be arranged if required.
Several years ago Advice Surgeries were very appropriate but changing technology has meant a changing approach to how residents are represented.
Cobbles provides an excellent unofficial Advice Surgery as I normally attend on Saturday mornings.
