THE VALUE OF TREES – 21 MAY 2018
KNOWLE VILLAGE HALL 8pm
Trees have always been close to the heart of The Knowle Society. We have fought for the preservation of the many fine specimens that stand proud in our corner of ‘Urbs in Rure’ and have planted more ourselves on a number of special occasions, such as the Queen’s Silver Jubilee in 1977 and our own Silver Jubilee in 1987 and Golden Jubilee in 2012.
So, it will be with great interest that we welcome for our May Speaker Evening one of the West Midlands leading authorities on Arboriculture and Urban Forestry, Ian McDermott to reassure us on ‘The Value of Trees’.
From an interest that took root at Pershore College of Horticulture, Ian has enjoyed a long career as a specialist consultant arborist. His work has ranged from advising a number of local authorities to training a host of tree wardens, whilst becoming a highly respected and influential voice amongst those professionals who plant and maintain trees.
We look forward to Ian’s visit to the Village Hall on Monday 21st May at 8pm, to talk about the importance of trees in the environment and consider how the work of tree care and management has developed over a generation.
All are welcome to join us.
